The Will of God

I’ve just read the short book ‘Just Do Something’ by Kevin DeYoung. I thought it was a fantastic look about the sovereignty and will of God. Here is a short extract from the Heidelburg Catechism which he quotes in an early chapter;

‘Providence is the almighty and ever present power of God by which he upholds, as with his hand, heaven and earth and all creatures, and so rules them that leaf and blade, rain and drought, fruitful and lean years, food and drink, health and sickness, prosperity and poverty – all things, in fact, come to us not by chance, but from his fatherly hand.’

Amen.

  1. It seems that it God does not need to be made aware of our needs, but for us to be aware of His providence and care He has already done.

    Good stuff.

  2. Great quote and great catechism! I really enjoy De Young’s stuff, as well. He just put a book out on the Heidelberg Catechism, which I’m keen to get.
